Susan — how come you were writing about me? I’m of the clean refrigerator cohort (the calories don’t count if you stand up while you’re eating, right?). Procrastination is the devil in disguise. Something else to try is calling a friend, or possibly someone in your mastermind group. That’s worked for me. It helps to talk through what’s holding you back.

Hi Susan — thanks for the mention. And now I’ve started a new life in Sarasota. Even a died-in-the-wool New Yorker like me was open to change. So far I’m loving it. My advice is to try new things to keep up your energy and enjoyment.

Susan — As the member who moved to Florida, I was touched by your post. I will really miss our monthly meetings where we provided support for each other but also laughed a lot which in my view is as good as taking a tonic. The group must go on and I will do my best to be there when I can. Someone else will have to host the holiday party! Love to you all, my friend.

Susan — this is a wonderful post and so on target. When I first moved in NYC I had no friends and quite by accident met another young woman who had also just moved into NY. We became friends but she was so needy she literally wanted an exclusive relationship with me, getting together everyday. She was a widow so I think she needed that constant companionship. I had to pull away. It was difficult but I had to weed her out.
