Vision is unlimited. I like the business expression, “blue-skying” to describe the first phase of planning. It suggests being open to anything and everything. You can clear your mind of all preconceived notions of limitations. What, in your heart of hearts, do you really want?
Goals can be limiting. They almost have to be, because a goal statement is a “how” statement. It shows you exactly what a step in your process looks like. Why start someplace with built in limitations? Think big! Vision.
Your vision is the sustaining force that inspires and motivates you. You are pulled toward it. You will you have a deep emotional connection to it. Without this deep connection it is probably not your true vision. Get in touch with what is possible for you and create a vision statement that inspires and motivates you.
